Final thoughts
Our puppies receive early neurological stimulation and other enrichment activities to develop resilience so they can thrive when exposed to new or stressful situations. This gives them a sound grounding to integrate well into their new families and sets them up for obedience training. Despite COVID, it is essential that new families provide socialization exposure as soon as the pups arrive in their new homes. Here are two recommended resources:

Goldendoodles are a crossbreed between the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. Introduced in the 90βs, they were bred to embody the good nature of the Golden Retriever, without the shedding issue. Poodles, the national dog of France, are known as excellent retrievers and water dogs. Since they have hair, not fur, they are non-shedding. The combined characteristics of these two exceptional breeds make Goldendoodles excellent companions for active families. In addition to their teddy bear looks, Goldendoodles are highly intelligent and can make excellent therapy dogs.
We breed multi-generational doodles that trace back to standard poodles (versus minis who trace their lineage to toy poodles). When full grown, generally the girls will weigh-in at 40-45lbs and the boys at 50-55lbs depending upon nutrition. We recommend a raw food diet to give our dogs the highest level of that nutrition available and to keep them lean. If this is not an option for you, we recommend high quality dry food supplemented with real food β dehydrated raw, high quality canned meats, or mixed kibble with raw meals. We often add fruits and vegetables to meals, which many dogs love.
While Goldendoodles are known for being non-shedding, they do have grooming needs. They require regular brushing and it is advised that they visit a professional groomer on a regular basis β as much as every 4-6 weeks.
Given their natural inquisitiveness and love for engagement, like all dogs, Goldendoodles benefit from training and socialization. No one wants to be pulled around the park by a 50 lb animal or have to apologize for their dogβs aggressive tendencies. As the owner of a Goldendoodle (or frankly any dog), with ownership comes the responsibility of training and consistency in order to enjoy a long life of companionship and loving bond.
So, please take the time to ask yourself these questions when considering a Goldendoodle:
1. Can I provide the exercise this breed thrives on?
2. Am I willing to do the socialization and training to keep my pet engaged?
3. Can I commit to a regime of grooming β plus the expense of a regular dog salon 6+ times a year?
We are happy to discuss your interest in one of our Goldendoodles including training and nutritional needs. That's why we're here.
